bareMinerals READY eyeshadow-Star Treatment Palette

Today I have for you the bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 palette called The Star Treatment. This palette was being sold on Sephora.com a few months back, and by the time I decided I wanted it, it was too late. They had already discontinued it. *Damn Procrastination* So I took to the Internet and ended up finding it on Amazon.com and I shockingly didn't have to pay an arm and a leg. It was the same price that Sephora had it listed it at. SCORE!!!!

The Star Treatment Palette consists of 8 warm toned eye shadows, a mini sized double ended brush, and a mini prime time eye primer. And I don't think that I took a picture of it, but there is a pretty decent sized mirror in the palette as well.

All the shades in the palette are shimmery, so if your not a fan of shimmer eye shadows, you might want to skip out on trying to find this.

The eye shadows are so buttery and so smooth. For the swatches below, I barely had to dip my finger in the pan and swipe it against my skin.
And when I wore these, I had no problem with fall out whatsoever, which was quite shocking to me because they are so shimmery. They glided across my eyelid like silk and wore for about 9 hours before fading (no primer).

I have never worn Bare Minerals makeup before, but I am so glad that I tried it. I am so excited to try out more of their pressed eye shadows. They quality of these is just fantastic, and if your interested, because they are no longer sold in stores, due to being limited edition, I have listed the amazon links below to where I bought mine.
Do you own any of the BM READY eye shadows? If so, which one's do you have and what do you think of them?

Khroma Beauty- Khloe's Kardazzle

Whether you love em or hate em, the Kardashians have set out to conquer the world again, this time, the world of makeup.
Today I have for you the Khloe Kardazzle palette from Khroma Beauty. If you are unfamiliar with Khroma Beauty, it is a new makeup line designed by the Kardashian sisters. It includes 3 eyeshadow palettes, false lashes, mascara ( a few different formulas), nude lip set (review for that to come later), as well as a couple other sets that contain eye shadows and eyelashes packaged together.
I purchased mine from my local Ulta but I do believe this brand is also being carried by CVS, K-Mart, and Sears. The palette retailed for $12.99, but price may vary depending on where you purchase. My Ulta was running a BOGO deal where if I bought one Khroma beauty item, I got the second one 1/2 off, which worked out fantastic for me, because I also have been wanting to pick up the Au Naturel nude lip set, but that's a whole other review for a different day.

As you can tell from the pictures below, the palette comes with 8 eye shadows. 4 matte and 4 shimmer, along with 2 blushes and a highlighter.
It is all housed in a rectangle compact, with snake skin print on it, that comes equipped with a mirror, and a second tier shelve that pulls out below that eye shadows that houses the blushes.
I really like the concept of the packaging. I think it is very convenient to have everything you need right there, in one tiny little rectangle, however, I am not a fan of the plastic casing and snake skin print. It just looks a "Jersey Shore" to me. When I think of the Kardashians, I think of style and elegance. You know, something with a mirrored finished, and like 3 big fancy "K"s on the front done in some type of ornate lettering would have been pretty, I mean, sure it probably would have cost the consumer a little more but most of us self proclaimed "beauty junkie's" often buy products simply for the packaging alone if we find it appealing, so the price increase would seem totally legit.

Macro shots of the 4 shimmer eye shadows

Macro shot of the cheek highlight

Here are all the eye shadows swatched over top of a primer. The 4 on the left are the shimmery ones, and the 4 on the right are the matte ones. I am really impressed with the shimmer shades. I had no problem swatching them and they didn't seem too crumbly, with the exception of the dark brown on the end. It was a little patchy, but nothing that couldn't be worked with.
The matte shades are a different story. They felt very soft to the touch, but had absolutely no pigmentation at all. The swatches you see here were swiped back and forth with each color about 10 times, and still you can barely see it. I almost didn't think I was going to be able to take photos of it because it almost wouldn't show up on my hand.

They were 2 blushes and a highlighter in this palette, and let me tell you, these 3 babies swatched on my hand to the left are EVERYTHING!!! They totally made me completely forget about the 4 crummy matte eye shadows. Both blushes are matte finishes, with one being more of a pink and the other leaning more of a neutral peach. The highlighter is a highly frosted warm toned golden shimmer. All 3 cheek products have excellent pigmentation, and they were so smooth and buttery. These swatches were taken with just one swipe in the pan. The only thing I would say is that the highlighter will probably need to be used lightly since it is so highly frosted, and because it is so warm toned, the cool-toned gals might not prefer it.

If it wasn't for the 3 cheek products in this palette, this would have been a fail for me. But just those 3 amazing products make this purchase worth it. I might even have to go back and get another one just so I can have a back up of the blushes. And if I only use the blushes, it's still a hell of a deal. I mean, let's face it, I have paid double what this palette cost, for a less than mediocre product in my history.

Do I think you should run out and buy it right now?? Well, that depends. If you are someone like me, who hoards makeup (cough, cough) then yes, I would say buy it. I mean chances are, you have way better eye shadows in your stash somewhere that would more than compensate for the shitty ones in here. But if you are someone who is a little more practical with makeup, and is looking for that "one thing" that you can use everyday, then I would say skip it. There are far more drugstore eyeshadow palettes who have better quality eye shadows, which may be more suitable for your every day needs.

I hope this review was helpful for you guys and let me know in the comments below if you have picked up anything from Khroma Beauty, and if so, what are your thoughts.

Essie- Butler Please!

Essie "Butler Please" is a gorgeous matte, bright, bright, bright blue with no shimmer. Oh, did I mention the fact that it is bright?
I am usually not a fan of blue polishes because they tend to stain the nails, and I just simply can't be bothered with trying to remove the stains. I am someone who doesn't like to leave their nails bare, and since I change my polish usually about every 4 days, waiting a few days for the stain to come off just won't work for me, but I first came intrigued with this when I saw swatches of Essie's "Mesmerizing". I searched my drugstores high and low for that one, and I couldn't find it but I did come across this one, which looked similar so I thought "why not give it a try"

While the color on this one is absolutely gorgeous, the formula is quite crap! It was very thick to apply and dries with an awful looking rubbery finish. I know this going to sound a little crazy, but it had the finish of a rubber tire. It just wasn't very flattering at all.
No big deal right, just add a good top coat and call it a day..WRONG!!! I applied this in the evening, and the next day when I woke up, I had some pretty terrible tip wear and the polish on my middle finger started lifting. All within less than 24 hours. I wore this for 2 days and had to touch it up twice. Not what I was expecting for an Essie polish. I can usually wear their polishes for at least 4 days before I start seeing any tip wear at all, which is why I can't help but think that it has something to do with that rubber finish this one has.
It is a shame because this is such a gorgeous color, but it is entirely too much maintenance for me. Unfortunately, I probably won't be wearing this one again on my fingers, but I think I might try it on my toes for the spring, and see if I can get a little better wear out of it.

I purchased this polish from my local Wal-Greens for $8.00. Price may vary depending on where you are located and where you purchase from.

China Glaze- It's a Trap-eze!

This polish was released by China Glaze as part of the 12 piece Cirque Du Soleil Worlds Away Collection. It was made available in stores Dec 1, 2012. I am pretty sure that when this became available at my Sally's, I was waiting in the parking lot for them to open, just so I could snag this little beauty.

It is described as a "sheer, milky white creme base with chunky, multi-colored, multi-sized hex and round shaped glitter"

Surprisingly, this polish went on rather smooth, and was opaque after 2 coats. I thought that because this is a heavily packed glitter polish, I would have some problems with application, whether or not the glitter would lay flat and if the formula would be rather thick, but the glitter just seemed to glide across the nail, and the polish was not thick at all. It was actually quite thin. It does leave a rather "bumpy" texture on the nail, but it's nothing that a good top coat can't smooth over.
Although this polish is described as having a milky white base, it came off to me as a milky pastel blue. Now because of the description, I am assuming the intention was for it to have a white base, but I am thinking that some of the colors of the glitter may have bled into the white base, causing it have a blue hue, because it definitely reads a little blue to me.
There are a few indie companies who have done similar polishes. KB Shimmer Oh Splat! is a similar concept with the milky base and the multi-colored glitters, as well as Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker. They are certainly not spot on dupes, but they are in the same family (if that makes sense)
I can surely see the circus theme play into this polish. The colors of the glitters are so vibrant and flashy. It also reminds me of a birthday cake. This would be a great to wear as a birthday polish.

This polish lasted for 5 days without any chipping or tip wear (it certainly pays to use a good top coat when wearing a heavy glittered polish, I def recommend it)

1 coat Orly Bonder
2 coats China Glaze It's a Trapeze
1 coat Gelous topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

I am not sure if this polish is still being sold in stores but if you can't find it at your local Sally's or beauty supply store, I was able to find it here on Amazon.

If you are on the fence about this polish, I think it is definitely worth giving it a shot, I think you will be surprised.

I hope you all enjoyed this post, and I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas

FOTD- Whatever, Whatever I do what I want

So, I finally got my groove back last night (no, not the same groove as Stella's LOL) and I decided that after about 2 months of not playing in my makeup that it was time. My husband has a command XMAS party coming up and I wanted to try to create something festive that I could wear.
I decided to call this look "Whatever, whatever, I do what I want" because obviously there is alot going on with the eyes and lips and in the makeup world it is considered taboo to do bold eyes and lips at the same time( I mean, seriously, who comes up with this shit) .Obviously, you can do whatever you want to do. I happen to like the look of a bold look overall, some may call it hooker-ish, but whatever, I do what I want LOL.
I also drew inspiration for the name from a picture I saw on pinterest. I wish I had pinned it because I would post it, but it was hand drawn and it was a picture of someones legs in a pair of high-heels and the legs were so hairy, and the caption read "Whatever, whatever, I do what I want" and I just thought "Amen sister, amen" LOL

Wet N Wild Sparkle Till Morning

WetNWild has recently released a new limited edition collection called "Where's the Party?" which consisted of 2 new 8 pan color icon palette and a previously released palette. There was an all matte palette called Drinking a glass of shine (previously released as I Heart Matte palette), Shimmer The Night Away, which is a palette consisting of purples and smokey shades, and Sparkle Till Morning.
I picked up 2 from this collection, Drinking A Glass of Shine and Sparkle till morning. Since I opted out for the matte palette the last time it was released, I figured I would get it this time around, and Sparkle Till Morning just looked too gorgeous for me too pass up.

Sparkle Till Morning is a very warm toned palette consisting of browns, golds, coppers, and a very random aqua blue shade.
7 of the shades in this palette have a satin/shimmer finish, while the right side definer shade has some glitter pieces.

I think that most shades in this palette are quite dupable. I was able to quickly dupe 3 of the shades right of hand. The left side eyelid color looked very similar to MACs Woodwinked. The right side brow bone color was similar to MACs Gleam and the right side definer shade reminded me of MACs Beauty Marked.
Before I go further and continue on to the swatches, I do have to say that I was sadly disappointed in this palette. The pigmentation just wasn't what I was expecting from WetNWild. All but 2 shades in the palette were extremely difficult to get any color pay off from. Aside from those 2 shades, I had to keep rubbing my hand back and forth in the palette just to get enough color to come off so I could do swatches.
The 2 shades I thought were worth it are the right side crease and definer shade (see below). The went on very smooth and extremely pigmented.

Above is the palette swatched on my arms with no primer or base.

Here are the 3 shades I was able to dupe swatched next to the MAC shades. The first one, which reminded of MACs woodwinked, was just slightly more cool toned than woodwinked, and as you can see from the last shade swatched, it was extremely more pigmented than the MAC eyeshadow. The middle shade, however, is spot on. You really can't tell a difference.

I am such a huge fan of WetNWild, but this was really a let down for me. It just wasn't what I was used to seeing from WetNWild. I have read and seen a bunch of  mixed reviews for this palette. Some raved about it and others had the same problem as me. I am not sure if maybe I got a palette from a bad batch or what the case is, seeming as how usually, WetNWild puts out some fantastic products.
I can't say that I am sorry to have bought this palette, but I can't say that I am happy to have it either Being that it is limited edition, the collector in me is thrilled beyond imagination to have gotten it, but the logical me, isn't so much........I guess it's really for you decide. Maybe you will have better luck with it than me.
I know there is some difficulty finding these, being as their was only 2 of each palette given for retail to each store. I managed to find mine at my local Walgreen's, and it was the last one they had on display. If you are unsure, try Drugstore.com , EBay, or Amazon. You might have some luck finding it there.
I hope this review has helped you guys in anyway, whether you have decided that you have to have it, or whether you have prefer to pass. Either way, I hope you guys enjoyed <3
